The Adventure Begins...

After 10+ hours...of a long and tiring but exciting flight of mingling with fellow Birthright travelers, we finally touched down in Ben Gurion Airport, Israel. Our first sight of Israel was of our new Israeli friends who met us at the airport, cheering and chanting their welcome. Once we were all together, Albert, our skilled bus driver, brought us up north to the GALIL, where we ascended Mt. Arbel to enjoy a spectacular view of the Sea of GALIL, or as it is called in Hebrew Kinneret, Israel‘s largest source of drinkable water. At the summit we played a game to test our knowledge of the State of Israel. Approximately 63% of Israel is desert, 16% of all the Jewish residents are considered religious, and the lowest point on earth is in the Land of Israel. After our hike, we made our way back to the Kibbutz Hukuk, where we would spend two nights. Our first day was exhilarating, informative, and absolutely exhausting, so everyone hit the pillow hard.
