What’s up July!!
It’s around 1 PM, and we’re sitting on our home away from home on a 90 minute drive to the old city of Jerusalem we left just days ago, and to the Kotel, or Western Wall. Time has flown by, and my task of recollecting the events of the past few days in detail is daunting, but I will give it the ol’ college try.
Day 5 - Jerusalem
Our trip to Jerusalem was a journey filled with excitement and emotion. We began on the outskirts of the Old City eager to explore deeper into the holy and capital city of Israel. Finally we began walking through the spiritual center of the Jewish people, giving us a feeling unlike any other. The history of the streets and walls we walked through is almost incomprehensible. As for myself, being the first person in my family to visit Jerusalem, I was especially touched by my visit.
Shabbat in Israel
Shalom, everyone! This is Eric J, and I wanted to share with you my first Shabbat in Israel. A quick background on my past experiences with Shabbat: At my home and college I have participated in many different Shabbat experiences. I spend many Friday nights at the Hillel in Iowa where we gather, say a few prayers, and then feast! I also enjoy the occassional Shabbat dinner with my family, but these experiences were always missing something. I discovered what I had been missing in my Shabbat experiences here in Israel.
Beautiful Israel!
HEY GUYS! This is Anna V, and today was the second day in Israel for bus number 294. This is my first time in Israel, and so far I have been very impressed. In fact, it has exceeded all my expectations! We hiked along the Jilaboon stream and the view was fantastic..Honestly pictures can't even capture it fully. The pictures might show the beauty, but they can't portray the feeling of actually being there. Even just driving through the country provides for some amazing scenery..especially along the Sea of Galilee!
