Shabbat Shalom! It is current 6:13pm in Israel and we are settled in at our hotel in Arad, getting ready for our participant-led Shabbat service. We have been so busy everyday hiking, learning, experiencing, and bonding. I think for most of us it has set in that after today we only have a very short time together. Over the past several days we have made the most amazing and lasting friendships with people from all over. In our group we have people from Michigan, New York, Florida, DC area, New Mexico, Connecticut, and Canada.

Dearest parents, friends, and other onlookers-
We, the members of Shorashim bus 442, are alive and well. You sent us here to learn about and experience Israel. We are doing that and then some, we promise. We have traveled the North, Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, and now we're heading south to spend an evening with some Bedouins.

Given that we're in the desert and we have no idea of connectivity, you may not hear from us immediately. But when you next hear from us, be prepared for a litany of stories, pictures, and unbelievable tales.
