Bottle of Joy

Bottle of Joy

By Kostya Reznik

This trip has been a warm and happy adventure. Everyday that I get to spend with people like you guys is the best feeling anyone could have wash over them. Imagine if that feeling could be bottled up. This feeling is so overwhelmingly great it should be illegal.

By that I mean the joy I get from being around the group brings a new excitement. I think that the only other way to get a feeling like this is… use your imagination.

Hatzav and I bonded very well. Its great to see a person with such respect and kindness. Bonding over music with him has made this trip very special. Even though we are worlds apart its great relief to see someone with the same taste in music. He has a kind mind and brings people together In a way that is very hard to find.

When Heala let us in her house It was a very profound moment. She didn’t know all of us that well yet and she opened her heart and her home with kindness that cant be measured. Her and I just talked for like 3 hours the first night in the kibbutz. Even though we were tired from the flight and the mini-hike we chatted till like 3 in the morning. And making that first connection, that first bond started this trip in the right direction because feeling welcome is the first step to feeling happy.

Laughter. That is the one thing that brings this group. This bottle contains so many different personalities. All diverse, all in our own little word…from different worlds, but with laughter we join as one big happy family. Everyone has a great sence of humor and bonding with these people really makes this trip worth every moment. Laughing at moments that seem small, but end up impacting you in a big way. Laughing at stupid things that bring you back home. Just taking time to share and laugh is what sews this trip together. It sews it together with a steel thread that is unbreakable. Because the relationships that I formed on this trip are so worthwhile you don’t want to lose them.

Talking to the Israelis expands my world so much. You learn new things about people. This is only the fifth day but it seems that I have known them my whole life. That goes with the other members of this group. I was born an only child but being on this trip I have gained brothers and sisters. And it gives me a sense of belonging that is above anything else.

Shani, Mor, and, Alumah are balls of happiness. I don’t know how they do it but I would like to feel that happy all the time. They have this radiance of light around them , this warmth that just draws you in and makes you want to get close. every time I’m around them my worries melt away. I don’t think negative thoughts. Because these warm and caring people give this trip a special vibe.

So I take this chance and keep this bottle because this trip is something that will stay with me forever. This bottle filled with laughter and joy and all the great moments I have experienced, and will experienced. Bottling these moments and keeping them close is important. I will remember people like you for a long, long time. This trip has opened my mind more than other life experienced. This birthright trip is bomb. The time I share here needs to be bottled and opened up to take in everyone in a while. So I take this bottle and keep it. And I hope that all of you have a trip as good as I have so far. Because meeting all of you has changed my life and outlook on things for the better. Shalom to all of you.
