Caleb- Western Wall- Israel

I'll start off by saying that I'm not a spiritual person by nature, but the experience I had at the western wall in Israel goes beyond any experience I've had in my life. I started off by walking up to the wall just like any other person and touched the wall, closed my eyes and waited to see if I would see anything, but nothing happened. I walked away from the wall and a few minutes later a rabbi came up to me and a couple of other people on the birthright trip. He told me that I should go up to the wall, touch it and picture each member of my family individually, and be thankful to god for everything I have. I decided to go back to the wall and do what he said. Suddenly a wave of emotion that I can only compare to pure happiness came over me and I started to tear up. This was probably the most amazing feeling and it took me two times going to the wall before I felt it. I would strongly reccomend any person that has the good fortune to be in Israel to travel to Isreael and go to the western wall. After this experience I gained a lot of respect for being jewish and the jewish culture. I still have no belief in god, but this experience showed me that there is something bigger in life.
