Hike in spectacular nature areas of Israel. From a meeting with residents of the Golan, to Bedouin hospitality in the desert, from the liveliness of Tel Aviv, to the diversity and spirituality of Jerusalem, experience the history, the vibrancy and the challenges of modern Israel. Engage in a community service project with Kiryat Gat - Chicago's P2K region. Meet new people from the Chicago area or your university. Make lifelong Israeli and American friends.

All groups are divided by age - College (18-22) and Graduate/Professional (22-26)

This program is for residents of the Chicago Area or students at Illinois schools (UIUC, Bradley, Loyola, etc.) only. Applicants from other areas will not be accepted, except under special circumstances. If you are not from the area, please apply to another Shorashim program or contact Shorashim if you have questions about your eligibility.

Chicago Community Specialty Trip: Mosaic Israel Adventure

With Shorashim you will experience the awesome adventure of Israel from the inside, through the eyes and hearts of Israeli peers. On this unique journey, the Mosaic Israel Adventure, you'll learn about the successes and challenges of the Conservative Movement in Israel. Meet with Israeli figures that are shaping the Conservative Movement in Israel today and encounter Israel through a pluralistic lens.

On this Taglit-Birthright Israel: Shorashim triprun in cooperation with KOACH and USCJ, you'll hike in spectacular nature areas of Israel, experience Bedouin hospitality in the desert, visit the holiest sites of Jerusalem, and encounter the history and vibrancy of modern Israel, as you explore the complexities of Israeli society. Engage in a community service project with Kiryat Gat - Chicago's Partnership Together region, as you meet new people from the Chicago area or your university. Make lifelong Israeli and American friends.
