First Day in Israel
Today was our first full day in Israel. We woke up to a wonderful tradition Israeli breakfast. After breakfast we took a scenic bus ride to our first destination in Golan Heights. We started off the day with a hike on the Jilaboon Mountain. We completed a two hour hike that consisted of crossing slippery streams, mud slides, scary slopes and rugged rocks. Needless to say mom and dad we need new gym shoes! After the adventurous hike we traveled to the Mt. Bentel lookout over the Syrian border. Here we learned the history of the relationship between Israel and Syria. We took lots of beautiful pictures in the bunker on the lookout. We ended the day with a group Shabbat service and getting to know you activities. We are all safe and happy and of course making new friends! Shabbat Shalom, Sam Rosenberg, Marni Kirschenbaum and Lauren Lamalfa shout out to our parents! love and miss you!
