First Days: Welcome to Israel and the Golan Heights
First Days,
We landed safely in Ben Gurion airport on Sunday afternoon. We met our Israeli group members and quickly got on the bus to head north to Kibbutz Afik. Arriving in darkness we were excited for dinner and meeting everyone we had just traveled with. We awoke early Monday morning to go on the beautiful Gelabon hike. Hiking down into the valley we learned of Eli Cohen's brave spying for Israel in Syria. To get across the stream we were given a hand by our new friends. Mount Bental where we learned to appreciate Israel's security challenges in the north. Ate some schawrma in Katsrin, learned about olives and got back to Kibbutz Afik for a delicious dinner and a group activity led by our new Israeli friends.
We are now on our way to Tzfat to explore the Kabbalistic city and will end today in Tel Aviv.

Shalom,
