Havdallah and Tiberius

Havdallah and Tiberius

Its been a while, but I have gathered some of my new found friends to recall the past few days. Lets start with the end of Shabbat.

One of our resident musicians, and Israeli compatriot, Neta, lead the group in a great Havdallah marking the end of Shabbat, after a much needed day of rest at the kibbutz. Following the ceremony we then hopped on the bus and drove to the one of the four holy cities of Israel known as Tiberius.

After a brief trip along a windying road adjacent to the Sea of Galilee, we were able to explore Tiberius’ "boardwalk" on our own and grab a meal at one of the local restaurants. I got to enjoy a great dinner of homemade beef kebabs (which almost everyone else enjoyed as well), homemade hummus and pita, and some great little salads for dipping. After filling up, playing some more Jewish geography, and trip mates getting to know each other better, we made our way to the light and water show taking place on the Sea of Galilee. Getting lost in conversation, we then realized our dinner went a little long, and missed the water and light show… we did mange to catch the end credits ;)

After another count off and a short jaunt back to the Kibbutz, we all were able to have some time to hang out, play cards, play the guitar and get to know each other better. A good night’s sleep and we are off to another one of the four holy cities in the morning, Tzfat.
