The holiest city in the holy land
The day started by meeting up at 7:30 AM for breakfast at our hotel in Jaffa. From there we left for Jerusalem. We walked up and looked at the glorious view which encompassed most of Jerusalem. It was surprising to find that it is a city that is very alive, not just a tourist site where people go to worship and see the artifacts. We went inside the Jewish quarter inside the Old City. We got to see the new synagouge that was recently built as well as the memorial for the soldiers that fought in the Independence War. We walked through the old city and went to the Western Wall and had the oppurtunity to write personal notes/prayers to put in the wall. After the old city we went into Jerusalem to eat lunch from there we went to the hotel to get ready for shabbat. We have a choice of participating in Friday night Shabbat service or participating in a group discussion.
