Jerusalem of Gold
As you all know, the central theme of our trip to Israel revolves around being respectful and responsible young adults. Today, all of our participants embodied these traits when they toured around Jerusalem and visited the Western Wall. All participants were given the chance to write special notes to wedge into cracks in the wall. Many of the male participants put on t'fillin for the first time at this holy place.
Later in the day, the group visited the interactive movie called the "Time Elevator", which explored the rich history of Jerusalem. Then, it was time to go shopping on Ben Yehuda Street.
If that wasn't cool enough, the group gathered together to celebrate two very important events: Daniel's 23rd birthday and the first night of Hannukah! Daniel was given the honor of lighting the candles, and after a beautiful dinner everyone enjoyed sufganiyot (jelly donuts!).
We are all looking forward to another day in Israel working on our personal goals.
Tomorrow....Tel Aviv!
Shalom!
