The journey begins... | Shorashim - Israel with Israelis

The journey begins...

The flights took off and they landed. 14 hours of travel quickly forgotten the minute everyone was greeted by our Shorashim leaders, Doug and Jessica. Shortly there after (a 3 hour bus ride) we arrived at the Kibbutz in Golan Heights. The warmth of the Kibbutz could only be matched by the accompanying name game we played after dinner in the dining center where we all told stories about our shoes. The next morning (today) we ate a delicious, kosher breakfast. We began our first tour which turned wet and wild faster than the raindrops could hit the floor. Step after step we witnessed the beauty of Northern Israel. Our tour ended with the violent scene of an intimidating waterfall harassing the poor rocks below. After destroying the bus with our muddy shoes we were told the story of Israeli hero Eli Cohen (BMF). We reached a vantage point of Syria where we walked through an old Syrian bunker; tight. Lunch anyone? Our first meal out on the town filled with shwarma and falafel quickly please our digestive systems. I am sitting here now typing while everyone is criticizing me of what to write, but as you can tell I am doing a magnificent job. With every minute that passes we grow closer and closer and I will soon be able to call my fellow Jews my “friends” Shabbot is fiddin to be poppin, I will continue to provide excellent bloggery for your reading pleasure.
