Magestic Day

Hello Ladies and Gentleman, Peers, Parents, Friends, Cows, and Staff

Today we had our adventure up the Masada! We woke up at the Beduin tent at 4:45am. Are you shocked? Don't be. It's only about an hour and a half earlier than we usually wake up. After a thrilling "breakfast" of wafers and tea we were on our way.
We got to the Masada and let me tell you, it was like nothing I had ever seen before. The only word I can think to describe it is magestic. All 47 of us, our AMAZING security guard Gennadiy, our lovely staff Erez and Carly (even though Carly is too short to be staff), made it up the moutain. We then watched the sunrise while singing our bus 89 fight song! Then Amit our guide showed us around King Harod's Castle. Shortly there after we spend 40 minutes climbing down. It was hot, very hot. But once we finished shedding our THOUSAND layers, it was quite comfortable.
When everything was said and done we had our real breakfast looking down at the bedrock of the Dead Sea. Then we piled back on the bus, sweaty and smelling quite fragrent. Not much unlike shwarma. Ma-Peet? (Napkin in Hebrew) So then we had a lovely shopping experiance at Ahava. It went something like this.
Ahava Staff Woman: Hello American Tourists! Are you ready to spend some money!?
Us: HELL YEAH!!!
Ahava Staff Woman: Ok go play!
So after we spend probably more money than we should have on various body lotions and mudmasks, we piled back on the bus and sped towards the dead sea. Easily the absolute highlight of the trip. At the dead sea we promply took off more clothes (Don't worry parents, this is not the theme of the trip). Then we cautiously went into the water. But guess what!? It was totally room temperature. And we floated! No kidding! It was the strangest thing. It is actually quite difficult to swim in the dead sea. After we got out most of us (all the cool kids) covered ourselves in dead-sea mud/clay. Then we ran around and attacked everyone that wasnt covered in mud/clay. Then we washed it off and went to play in the sulfer pool. I think I am correct in saying no one got any salt water in our eyes, nose, throats, and other painful places. Great Success!
Then we cleaned ourselves off and busily sped off for lunch and more shopping. Notice a pattern?
Finally something like 15 hours later we are at our lovely Jerusalem Kibuttz. Soon we will eat dinner. I think these Israeli's are shocked at our very American need to eat constantly.
Here are some pictures for you!
Signing off,
Shelly
