More than 80 Alumni sign up for Shaliach Program

By Sharna - Posted on 05 February 2010

Over the years, Shorashim has sent thousands of participants on Taglit-Birthright Israel and our alumni are actively involved in passing the gift forward by participating in the Shorashim Shaliach program.

Shorashim relies on alumni as recruiters because only they know the importance of traveling with Israeli peers.

So far this season, more than 80 Shlichim from around the country have signed up to recruit 18 to 26 year olds to register for Taglit-Birthright Israel: Shorashim. Since the Shaliach program was launched in 2008, Shlichim have recruited between one to 37 participants.

Each Shaliach receives guidance and support from Shorashim Program Coordinator Linor Vaknin. Shlichim also have their own online accounts to monitor their recruits.

If you want to be a  Shaliach, sign up at http://www.israelwithisraelis.com/recruitment .

Once you have registered, log onto our website often to check the status of your referrals. "Points" towards incentives and prizes are accumulated when Shorashim receives a deposit from your referral within a given time period.

If you sign up to be a Shorashim Shaliach, you want to register as many people as possible on the first day of registration.

Registration begins on Feb. 17 at noon EST for those who have never registered in previous rounds (and priority registration opens on Feb. 16 at noon EST for anyone who has registered in the past, but did not participate in a trip). Taglit-Birthright Israel reserves the right to close registration early.

Even if you don't want to be a Shaliach, you can pass the gift forward informally by setting your Facebook status and Tweeting on Feb. 17: Sign up today for Taglit-Birthright Israel at http://israelwithisraelis.com

Yalla! Kadima!
