A mystical city and a city that doesn't stop

We began our day yesterday in the holy city of Tzfat! Our group took the old cobbled streets to experience all the city had to offer. The shops were filled with handmade crafts, and each turn held a unique feel and history. As a final treat to us, we were able to watch two local musicians play several ancient instruments in an intimate setting. After the holy city, we went on to walk along the Jaffa port. The scenery and sea air were highlights of the day. A local flee market offered a one of a kind shopping experience that show cased the talent of the people. After looking across the sea, we headed for the Israeli cultural hub of Tel Aviv. Our night ended with an unmatchable cultural experience; we were able to explore the city night life together side by side with the Israeli people! In the morning, we had the chance to enter into Independence Hall. As a group we listened to the story of how Israel gained its independence. To end, we listened to the speech that declared Israel to be the state of the Jewish people. This was by far one of the most influential experiences of the trip thus far. Our final stop in Tel Aviv was to the assassination site of Prime Minister Rabin. Small groups of us asked the local Israelis how this experience affected life for them. Their responses taught us more than any text could have. Finally, we went to Neot Kdumim and had the chance to plant almond and acorn trees in a biblical setting. Our day is ending with our arrival in Jerusalem!
