We've arrived!
Shalom from the Galilee! After spending some extra quality time in Terminal 1 at JFK, Austrian Airlines was nice enough to hold our connecting flight for us in Vienna. A mere 18 hours after meeting in New York, we walked through passport control and baggage claim into the cheering and balloon-laden arms of our seven Israeli participants. Following a two hour ride to the north and our first non-airline food in a bit, we retired to the guest quarters of Kibbutz Chukuk. A wetter than usual couple weeks (including an overnight rain storm) has left the Galilee looking green and lush. A hike on the Banyas (a tributary to Jordan River), a visit to Mount Bental, and an afternoon at the Gadot lookout are all on the itinerary for day number one. Stay tuned to future posts for pictures!
