Our last day | Shorashim - Israel with Israelis

Our last day

As we come to the final day of our trip we reflect on our Birthright to travel throughout the Jewish State of Israel. From traveling through Tel Aviv, the Golan, the Negev, Jerusalem and more, I believe our journey of developing a deeper connection to Israel is beginning. Having the opportunity to discover the Jewish State with an amazing group of Americans and Israelis is an unforgettable experience.

Going to Yad Vashem, Mt. Herzl, and the Kotel we understood the struggle of maintaining the safety of the Jewish people of Israel and the world. Climbing Massada we worked together as a team and created our own Jewish community. As we discovered Israel we were blessed with the guidance of three amazing educators; Yosi, Yoni, and Fara. These three not only provided a historical background to the visited sites, but an emotional connection as well.

From a personal note I am married to an Israeli, and we made the decision to make Aliyah before I came on Taglit Birthright. However when people asked me why I made that decision it was difficult for me to explain. Now after experiencing Birthright with lifelong friends, I am cofident with my decision and understand the meaning behind it. I could not be more grateful for this opportunity. Next year in Jerusalem!
