Random Thoughts from SH-23-116
As a part of our trip we appointed Andrew Rosenberg and Andrew German in charge of recording the thoughts that were going through their minds and the minds of their friends.
We chose this format for it's simplicity. These are just a few of the thoughts from the first two days when we were up north in the Golan and Galil mountains.
Flight
- jet lag sucks. Everyone is tired.
- the movie selections were excellent
Breakfast
- pudding for breakfast? Interesting choice. Interesting but good.
- food is good here more like home than expected.
Banyas
- very scenic
- my favorite place in the world (Lee - Israeli solider)
- Saw a couple of gophers
- water is crystal clear. You can fill up your bottle and drink from it
- the plant life is so diverse especially between the top of the mountain and by the waterfall.
Har Bental Bunker
- recycled metal T-Rex (Asaf the guide - raawwr - doing his best dinosaur impression)
- dense fog - no lookout. Needed to use our imaginations.
- cool and surreal to be in a place where a war was fought.
From the staffers- watching the participants for the past few days has been incredible. To see them start as a bunch of students who didn't know each other and turn into a cohesive group in such a short amount of time is just amazing. The friendships that were formed especially with the Israelis are really special and will be treasured for a long ever.
They are having the time of their lives and the next week will continue the adventure.
