Shorashim Staff: Rebecca Rapport
Hey Bus 150!
Although we may have already been introduced via Facebook messages (please read the post answering your questions!!), I wanted to tell you a bit more about myself before we head to Israel in just a few days. I am currently in graduate school at the University of Illinois Chicago, where I am studying public health. When we return from our trip, I'll be spending the summer working at the Chicago Department of Public Health. I am originally from Denver, Colorado. I attended The Ohio State University for undergrad and am a HUGE Buckeye fan. When I'm not studying, working, or watching Ohio State sports, I am doing yoga, running, cooking, or hanging out with friends.
I have been to Israel twice in the past. I went on a 6 week trip with Camp Ramah in the summer of 2007, and then returned for a week-long family trip in winter 2008 for my brother's Bar Mitzvah. As you may have guessed, this will be my first Birthright trip too, and I am excited to share the experience with you! From what I've gotten to know from your messages and emails, you seem like an awesome group and I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all better. As a Colorado girl, I am also excited for the hiking we'll be doing, especially Ein Gedi, and to reunite with my camel friend (pictured below, at the Bedouin tents in 2007).
Again, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions (rrapport.7@gmail.com or 303-718-3555). See you on Monday!
