Birthright Israel Academic is an exceptional, 12-day immersive educational experience that allows for the opportunity to earn up to 3 college credits through course learning that is integrated directly into your Birthright Israel itinerary, including outdoor lectures in the field and on campus.

This program is open to all undergraduate students, especially those who are majoring in, minoring in, or interested in technology, innovation, business, entrepreneurship, marketing, and more.

Launched through an introduction to the Israeli entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem, this program merges fireside chats with entrepreneurs with hands-on opportunities to learn about Israel's economic challenges and start-up financing.
Through dynamic excursions to a variety of companies, including WeWork, Terra Ventures, Given Imaging, ReWalk Robotics, OurCrowd, Siftech Accelerator, Jerusalem Venture Partners – VC Firm, Mobileye, The JVP Cyber Labs Incubator, BGN Technologies, Google Launchpad, and more, you'll immerse yourself in the booming start-up culture of Israel and soak in its entrepreneurial spirit.

Lecturer: Dr. Barak Ben-Avinoam, Partner at Behamou Global Ventures - Dr. Ben-Avinoam is a Partner at Benhamou Global Ventures (BGV), a Silicon Valley based, early-stage venture capital fund that focuses on innovative Enterprise IT companies. Dr. Ben-Avinoam manages BGV’s operations in Israel, and is responsible for identifying and mentoring the Israeli companies in BGV’s portfolio.
Vice Dean: Dr. Yossi Maaravi, Vice Dean at Adelson School of Entrepreneurship - As the head of the B.A. program in Entrepreneurship, Academic Director of the CO-OP Start-Up Experience course, head of the LEUMI Center for Innovation, and the director of IDC IMPACT, Dr. Yossi Maaravi oversees the Entrepreneurial Mangement program while conducting front-line research that focuses on decision-making, negotiation and creativity.
IDC-Herzliya is accredited by the Israeli Ministry of Education and the Council for Higher Education. The university maintains study-abroad agreements with many top academic institutions in the United States and worldwide. If your school does not appear on the list of schools with credit transfer agreements, we recommend consulting with your home study abroad office about whether credits received through this program can transfer. Even if your home school appears on the IDC list, we still recommend consulting with your home study abroad office in advance to confirm the credits will transfer. Birthright Israel Academic works with leading academic institutions in Israel and are currently only running in the summer season. Like any Birthright Israel experience, you will first need to apply and pay your $250 refundable deposit.
Fill out your application now and then look out for an email from email@example.com with next steps, including providing your transcript and payment for the course.
The Birthright Israel Academic program cost is $500, which is a non-refundable fee paid directly to IDC Herzliya.
It is required to submit a final paper at the end of the program to complete all program requirements. Once all requirements are met, the academic institution will issue you an official transcript reflecting your obtained course credits.
