Welcome to Israel! | Shorashim - Israel with Israelis

Welcome to Israel!

Sitting in the airport, gazing off and chatting as we wait for the boy who lost his passport, a realization happened. Suddenly, a smile emerged onto our faces: we were here in Israel! After meeting the Israelis and our tour guide, we headed out into the burning heat, buzzing with excitment. Our first day was spent getting to know each other, and getting just a small taste of our Homeland. We headed to Ceasaria where we said the Shehechiyanu, and then we made our way to our Kibutz, Kibutz Chukuk. Today we started off the morning with a rocky hike through the Jilaboon with mid-way swim at the Devora waterfall. We then headed to the only city in the Golan Heights Qatzrin for some shwarma and falafel. Our next stop was one of the 60 volcanos in the Golan. While there, we learned about the Yom Kippur war and saw the Syrian border. The last stop for the day was a famous graveyard next to the kineret. We saw the graves of various famous people including the composer of Jersualem of Gold. That conculded our day of traveling around nothern Israel, and headed back to the Kibbutz Chukuk for evening activites. Can't wait for day two!
