What we know you've all been waiting for!

Hello everyone at home. This is bus 147 reporting in! Our first two days in Israel have been amazing. We started the trip out being greeted with song and dance by our new israeli friends. After that we headed to our first destination, a beautiful forest where we made a time capsule and blessed the beginning of our trip with the shehechianu. After which we got to the kibbutz we will be staying at for the first few days and finally got to settle in. An awesome hike at Mount Arbel followed. At one point we had to scale a 500 foot vertical cliff! It was pretty awe inspiring. On our way down we drank from a mountain spring and got to observe some native farm animals. The night consisted of playing a few "bonding" games. After a night of fitfull sleep (our first real chance to rest in two days!!) We began the day with a nutritious breakfast and got onto the bus. We arrived at the Golan heights and hiked for three hours. This hike involved traversing more streams than anything else. We were back on the bus for a quick lunch which involved a visit with the king of falafel who provided us with the best falafel in all of Israel! (or so he says). After this refreshing lunch we visited the Syrian border where we learned alot about the founding and history of Israel! Shorashim tour guides are the best, they live and breathe Israel, making the trip that much more enlightening. It is becoming close to shabbat so the internet is about to turn off.
