Last Day in Israel | Shorashim - Israel with Israelis

Last Day in Israel

On our final day in Israel, we went to Kiryat Gat to play with elementary school children and helped them with their English.

After a few hours of fun, one of our seven Israeli soldiers, Yuval, welcomed us into her beautiful home and treated us to some delicious snacks!

Once we finished there, we continued our day to the city of Jerusalem for our final Israeli lunch and "shopportunity". We all got lots of great souvenirs!

We then moved on to visit the Mt. Herzel Memorial Cemetery for several hours. Here we heard stories from many of the Israeli soldiers about people in their life they knew who served in the IDF and are now buried in this cemetery. Aside from just the soldiers, we heard a fascinating yet tragic story from one of our group members Shani Benezra who has a grandfather buried there after passing away during the Six Day War in 1967. All of these stories touched the emotions of each group member. After seeing Hertzel's burial sight we wrapped up our night discussing how this trip changed ourselves and cherishing the relationships we made and the time we have left with each other.

Thank You Shorashim and the great guides and leaders we had to show us all that Israel has to offer!
