Last Two Days...
Massada: Although we had to wake up at 4am and none of us were excited about it, hiking up Massada was probably the most amazing and challenging thing I have ever done. It was pitch black and as I looked up I kept thinking about all of those that ended their lives two thousand years ago. We were returning to fulfill their dreams for the Jewish people. I have never felt such a sense of pride as I had when I reached the top. Dripping with sweat, we all felt a sense of victory.
Har Herzl: We have speant so much time with the Israelis on our trip and have become very close to them. Although we thought we had gained an understanding about their unique struggle because all are required to participate in the military, nothing more hit it home than it did today. All of those buried in the cemetary are everyone's brother, sister, mother, father and brother. They can picture themselves being the one laying in the grave for all eternity. Unless we have a family member that is currently serving in the military, most people from the states cannot comprehend this feeling. It was a very powerful experience.
