Learning | Shorashim - Israel with Israelis

The conversations were intriguing and it was eye opening to hear other participants' perspectives.

Day 3 began with everyone up early for another gorgeous hike. Today's adventure was a bit difficult, yet rewarding; Mount Arbel, where in addition to hiking on trails, we heard about the history and stories of the IDF from this place and about the importance of paying attention to heat advisories in Israel. The lesson was well timed - it was extremely hot up there.

The group was happy and bonding, and being such helped us realize that although we are guests in this beautiful land, we are already home.

Talking to the Bedouin woman who is an activist for women's rights was our favorite part of today because she was working to positively change her community.

It was awesome to be in the place where the State of Israel was born and I feel like we got to learn a lot about the country of Israel as a whole.

We touched the same wall our ancestors had practiced their faith and where the Jewish people will still continue to exercise their religious freedom. Some felt a connection and some did not, but either way it will be one of the memorable experiences collected on the Birthright trip.
