All In One (Bedouin) Tent
Hey this is Jennifer writing to give everyone a quick update on our amazing journey in Israel. After visiting Yad Vashem, we traveled to the city Sderot which is 2 miles from the Gaza Strip and is constantly being hit by rockets. In Sderot we went to a JNF indoor playground that serves as a shelter for citizens when missiles are about to hit. Citizens have 15 seconds to seek shelter once Israel knows that a missile is launched. Shelters like the playground we visited serve as a safe place for everyone that lives there.
That night we also went to the Bedouin tents in the Negev Desert. It was such a cool experience! For dinner we sat on the floor on cushions and enjoyed a nice meal with tea afterward. Then, we heard a Bedouin man play some music and he gave us homemade coffee. My favorite part of the night was when we all sat around a bonfire, sang campfire songs, and listened to our very own Zach Berkman play guitar. Sleeping in a tent with 45 other people was definitely an experience but an amazing one!
