Havdalah - Awesome Sauce

By Ari Saplinsley

What did you do today?
We spent the day lounging in complete relaxation at our kibbutz. Instead of the usual hustle and bustle of the trip (which we love), we finally had a chance to sleep in and rest up. Today can be summed up with three words: pool, sun, sitting.

What was your favorite part of the day and why?
The day ended with a havdalah service, beautiful of course, which ended Shabbat and welcomed in the beginning of the next week. I'm sure I could say every part of the day was my favorite part of the day, but nothing beats havdalah (except for hummus - which I will reiterate for emphasis later).

What's something new that you learned or something that you tried for the first time?
I learned that sometimes pools are really cold, that large groups of people get very tired, and that even if you don't have consider yourself to have "faith," there is a certain spiritual beauty to havdalah.

What was the best thing you ate today and where did you get it?
Hummus. The answer is always hummus. There is no better food.

What are you looking forward to tomorrow?
I'm looking forward to getting my legs moving, arms pumping, and tiredness equally renewed.
