Kibbutz at Sunset

Last night, a small group of us went on an amazing walk around the kibbutz. We started out at the Fiszgop Plaza Park that overlooks the Sea of Galilee. From here, we could see the city of Tiberas in the distance in front of us, a valley with a creek and cows grazing below us, and two other mountain peaks to our left and right. We walked along the edge of the kibbutz and found a walking trail that took us over to the grazing pastures and farming area of the kibbutz. Cows chewing cud and mooing occasionally greeted us. There were also many birds chirping and singing as the sun started to set. Further along the trail, we came to a pear orchard and a neighborhood that had another lookout over the Sea of Galilee. We spent the next few minutes watching the sun set behind the mountains, turning a beautiful orange that outlined the mountain tops while the crescent moon became visible above. It was totally surreal.

On the way to Tel Aviv today, we learned a new word in Hebrew: chnoon (nerd).

Also wanted to give a shout out to my sister, Cat :)
