Masada, Dead Sea, Jerusalem....

What a day, what a day. Today was a crazy, hectic, fun, exciting, and tiring (but of course incredible) day. We first began our day by waking up around 4:00 a.m. in order to be ready to hike Masada to see the sunrise. Although it was very difficult to wake up that early, we all somehow managed...and boy was it worth it!! It was so magical to be on top of Masada, watching the sunrise and learning all about the history of the events that took place, right where we stood. Our wonderful tour guide Elaun, really went into great detail about everything we could possibly need to know about the history of Masada.Once we were finished experiencing the magic of being on top of Masada, it was time for the Dead Sea! Everyone was excited to be able to float and experience the Dead Sea mud. Each person that got into the water smeared the mud all over their bodies which left everyone's skin feeling silky smooth. We all had a great time and left with many great pictures as well as memories. Next (yes, it was only 2:00 p.m. and we had accomplished so much!) we began our drive back to Jerusalem for a nice lunch in the town. Many people continued to try new, unfamiliar foods, or just stuck with the usual falafel or schwarma that we will all miss once we are back in the states. We then made it back to a new hotel and rested until our programs for the night. Although it was an exhausting day, this will definitely be one of the most memorable days of the trip! It's too bad birthright can't last forever.
