Reflections From An Israeli Participant
My name is Bar Kafri. I am a grad school student and an officer in the IDF. When I applied to Taglit, I thought I was going on a fun vacation. But after the last few days, I realize that Taglit is more than a vacation, it is a lifetime experience. I had a chance to meet amazing people - our brothers and sisters from over the sea, hear about new culture and the most amazing thing - to see my country from another point of view. I had a chance to take part in discussions on our shared history, our present, and our future. I really learned the meaning of the old saying - kol yisreal are vim zeh l’zeh. We are all responsible for one another. That we Israelis are not alone, that we have a big family overseas - maybe a bit far from the eye, but very close to the heart.
