Arriving in Israel!
At long last, we have arrived! Bus 140 (the Boston Community bus) came through its travel delays with great cheer. Landing in Israel rightaround the time we were supposed to have arrived at the hotel,we were greeted by our Israeli friends with joy, singing and laughter. Once we collected all our luggage, we left the terminal to find boxed dinners, our cell phones and an opportunity to change money.
Having had plenty of time in the airport to get to know one another and become friends, our bus ride to Kibbutz Afik in the North was filled with hushed chatter as the anticipation grew. Arriving at the Kibbutz Guest House after dark, http://www.hotels-of-israel.com/kibbutz/countrylodging/afik.htm, we held a brief ceremony of welcome which invited us to walk this land as if it were our own and experience Israel, immersively, with all of our senses. We recited kiddush, the blessing over wine and sheheheyanu, the blessing over new moments in time.
Everyone collapsed into bed, with an eye on our early morning start and our exploration of the beauty and geography of Northern Israel.
We hope you have a wonderful night and we look forward to sharing more with you tomorrow!
