A little behind... | Shorashim - Israel with Israelis

A little behind...

On Shabbat, we got to sleep in (10am ) and after some coffee and cake we took a walk around Kibbutz Afik where we are staying. On the Kibbutz we visited a cow farm where we learned about Israeli milk. Apparently the cows here produce much more milk since they are very happy being in Israel. Afterall, this is the land of milk and honey! After the trip to the dairy farm we headed back to the Kibbutz dining hall for a light lunch followed by a few hours of recreation. Following the "chill time" we split into groups to discuss various aspects of Judaism and their level of importance to us as individuals and as a group. This led to much debate as everyone had a different opinion. It was nice to hear other people's thoughts and respect them. You know the saying. One jew, two (+) opinions. After the discussion we headed to Tiberius where we were able to explore the center of the town and have a nice independent dinner. When we got back to our little Kibbutz in the hils of the Galil we had a small camp fire waiting for us to be lit. It was Lag Ba Omer, a Jewish holiday celebrated by Jewish people all around the world and here in Israel by gathering together with family and friends and enjoying time together. We all decided to spend some time in around the fire enjoying each other's company until the small hours of the night. It was a great way to conclude Shabbat and we are excited for the adventurous week ahead!
