Philip the Camel | Shorashim - Israel with Israelis

Philip the Camel

Day 6 started by waking up in the bedouin tent we had stayed in the night before. we went to breakfast and after a delicious meal we got to do what we were all waiting for. We got to ride the camels! A nice (and somewhat painful) 20 minute ride. Then, we got on the bus and went on to a hike in the middle of the desert. It took us about an hour to complete our journey before we left to go to Ben Gurion and his wife Paula's grave. There we had a small trivia game to learn more about the history and accomplishments of David Ben Gurion in Israel. From there we drove to Dimona to have lunch at the central mall. After that, we got to the Ein Gedi resort and took a 15 minute hike towards an incredible water spring where we met several other Birthright groups. The cold water of the spring was greatly appreciated after the hot fifteen minutes in the sun. We spent about an hour there before going to the hotel where we will be staying in for the night. We are about to go to dinner and then rest up for a 3:30 wake up call!!! So excited to climb Mesada :)
