Beautiful Landscape and Tzvat
We started our trip touring around the Northern part of Israel and the Golan Heights. The scenery of Israel is one that contradicts the imagination of the average American when they think of this Middle Eastern nation. What comes to mind is an arid region with little floral life across the landscape, but when one arrives and explores this mystic land, they find the complete opposite. From hiking around , to the rides across the highways lining Israel, you find an explosion of trees, tall grasses, fields of agricultural produce, and even gorgeous flowers.
Today (Wednesday) we went to Tzvat. Tzvat was a real interesting city to explore, both for the antiquity of the sixteenth century architecture and the deep connection to Judaism that Tzvat perfumes for tourists. Being one of the four holy cities in Judaism and the birthplace of Kabbalah, the city is also a quiet little hub that captures the Isreali spirit and the varieties of Judaism that creates a connection and passion for Jewish culture. The synagogues within Tzvat are decorated with colorful and brilliant paintings, woven decor, and architectural decorations within the synagogues, taking elements from the Sephardic and Ashkenazi traditions. Along side the traditional atmosphere of old Tzvat, the newer city above offers a vibrant hub for the Israeli artistic scene that has been evolving across Israel since the birth of the nation. Within Tzvat, and the tradition styles of Jewish art, modernist sculpture and contemporary Israeli art lining both the streets in the contemporary city above, and the trip of art galleries and Judaic shops in the alleys of Old Tzvat.
